Democrats Prepare For "War"

If anyone has a shred of doubt about the Democrats’ intentions regarding whoever Bush nominates to replace Sandra Day O’Connor…check this out from the Drudge Report:

Senate Judiciary Committee member Chuck Schumer got busy plotting away on the cell phone aboard a Washington, DC-New York Amtrak -- plotting Democrat strategy for the upcoming Supreme Court battle. Schumer promised a fight over whoever the President’s nominee was: “It's not about an individual judge… It's about how it affects the overall makeup of the court.”

Now, in public this weasel says this:

"Well, yeah, extraordinary circumstances can be judicial philosophy but we don't want to go to war. We want a good pick. We want to do whatever we can to advance the process."

But in a private cell phone conversation, things are a little different:

Schumer proudly declared: “We are contemplating how we are going to go to war over this.”

And…

Schumer later went on to mock the “Gang of 14” judicial filibuster deal and said it wasn’t relevant in the Supreme Court debate. “A Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown style appointment may not have been extraordinary to the appellate court but may be extraordinary to the Supreme Court.”
If that doesn’t show you the Democrat mindset regarding SCOTUS picks, nothing will. They have completely abandoned their traditional role in the Senate regarding SCOTUS nominations. Their lack of integrity and honor grows more apparent with each passing day.
