Pirro Is A Zero

Can you believe this woman really thinks she's going to unseat the 2008 Democrat presidential nominee with this kind of minutial pap?

Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro blasted Senator Hillary Clinton on Wednesday for failing to obtain enough homeland security funding for New York State, saying Clinton's performance on 9/11 issues would be a key target of her campaign.

"I walked Ground Zero the day after 9/11 with a friend who was looking for her husband," Pirro told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity.

"I know what can happen in New York and all of the trauma that comes from the problem with homeland security and the fact that we don't have enough money to defend ourselves the way New Yorkers need to."

Pirro vowed in the next breath: "Make no mistake, I will attack [Hillary's] record. Her record is going to be a target of my campaign."

Wow, who would have guessed that the first lie of this lopsided senatorial campaign would not come from Hillary?

Just to review, how are these items not a part of her "record":

*Hillary's role as first lady in appointing Jamie Gorelick to replace Webb Hubbell as her eyes and ears at the Justice Department - a particularly disastrous move given Gorelick's "Wall of Separation" directive, which critics say blocked the FBI from questioning lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta a year before the attacks.

*Mrs. Clinton's decision to criticize President Bush's handling of the Iraq war to the Arab press in a May 2004 interview that her office at first tried to deny. According to an account in a leading Iranian newspaper, Hillary blasted Bush Administration policies as "arrogant and insolent."

*A claim by media mogul and one-time former Clinton supporter Steven Brill that Hillary had her office provide false documentation showing that she had dozens of meetings with 9/11 victim families. "None of it turned out to be true," Brill said after checking with the families themselves.

*Hillary's continued reliance on Sandy Berger as a senior national security advisor, even after Berger pled guilty to stealing top secret 9/11 documents from the National Archives - and shredding some of them. In March, the New York Times reported that Berger helped Mrs. Clinton draft a speech she gave to a German security conference.

All of the above are a helluva lot more significant to Hillary Clinton's homeland security "record" than the amount of HLS pork she's shoveled "home" to the Empire state.

But at least Mrs. Pirro took a swipe at Senator Thunder Thighs on her love for high taxes. Won't change many, if any, voters' minds, but you can never go wrong by advocating lower taxes.
