{pssst - Bush's Poll Numbers Are Up}

Not that you would know it from following the Extreme Media. But Ankle-Biting Pundits are certainly paying attention to these Gallup poll results (via B4B):

Initial/recent response to Hurricane Katrina good?

-George W. Bush 44%/58%
-Residents of New Orleans 39%/59%
-State and local officials in Louisiana 39%/57%
-FEMA/federal agencies 36%/56%

60% of respondents still had confidence in the federal government's ability to handle natural disasters and 63% had confidence in the government's ability to handle terrorist attacks.

Nearly half (49% and 48% respectively) think the media and the Democrats are spending too much time trying to affix blame.

Lastly, Bush's job approval rating is up to 46%.

Incidentally, Rasmussen shows the President at 50% among likely voters.

I could swear I saw that opined recently somewhere....
