The White House Levee Breaks

Just came over the wires:

Michael Brown Steps Down As FEMA Director

Michael Brown will step down as Director of FEMA today. Brown has faced criticism in light of the slow response to the emergency needs after Hurricane Katrina struck the U.S. gulf coast.

Except, of course, that the FEDERAL response to the emergency needs after Hurricane Katrina struck the U.S. Gulf Coast WASN'T "slow," and would have been even swifter if not for the complete incomptence of state and local officials in Louisiana.

Jesus, the man couldn't wait two months to take his leave? What ever happened to the fabled Bush loyalty? Or at least his penchant for "riding out storms"?

*sigh*

Well, might as well grab some snacks and frosty beverages, settle down in your favorite easy chair, and start watching the body count.

And I'm not talking about New Orleans.
