A Soldier's Reaction

Here is the reaction of blogger T.F. Boggs, who has served two tours in Iraq, to the ISG report that had the media all atwitter yesterday. If you ever doubted that the Left in this country wants us to lose the war on terror, this report and the reaction to it from the Left should convince you. One paragraph from Mr. Boggs:

The Iraq Survey Group’s findings or rather, recommendations are a joke and could have only come from a group of old people who have been stuck in Washington for too long. The brainpower of the ISG has come up with a new direction for our country and that includes negotiating with countries whose people chant “Death to America” and whose leaders deny the Holocaust and call for Israel to be wiped from the face of the earth. Baker and Hamilton want us to get terrorists supporting countries involved in fighting terrorism! If I am the only one who finds something wrong with that then please let me know because right now I feel like I am the only person who feels this way.

Read the whole thing. James Baker and Lee Hamilton? Why in the world were these dinosaurs dug up for this? My college age daughter was watching NBC news last night regarding this, and I felt like I had to deprogram her. Oh, the glee the Left feels when someone with a little power says that Bush has failed! Never mind what kind of effect this kind of rhetoric has on our troops and our mission. All these people know how to do is hate Bush.

Again and again, my feeling that this last election hurt our military and our national defense more than anything has been borne out. If we had retained our majority, would this joke of a group have been listened to? Of course the media would still have gone to great lengths to show this as proof of the failure of Bush's policies in Iraq, but I think the reaction to it would have been different. John 'Surrender Now' Kerry would still be an ass, but that'll never change. The problem is the 'Surrender Now' party will be in power in a few short weeks, THEN we'll really start seeing the error of our ways in voting them in. Generic 'our' of course, I wouldn't pull the lever for a Democrat under any circumstances because there isn't an ounce of integrity in the whole party any more. Their inexcusable treatment of our troops is proof of that.
