The Many Faces Of Reid

That describes Harry Reid in a nutshell. Today over at Newsmax, I read this:

With a veto fight looming, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Monday that President Bush is in a state of denial over Iraq, "and the new Congress will show him the way" to a change in war policy.

Yes, the new Congress will show us the way - to defeat. The despicable little weasel then backpedaled a bit on his statement that we've lost the war, he said:

He did not repeat the assertion in his prepared speech, saying that "The military mission has long since been accomplished. The failure has been political. It has been policy. It has been presidential."

What a coward. Either say what you mean and stick with it, or shut up and go back to shady land deals for your bread and butter. Find an honest Democrat for the majority position. Granted, that will be a tough job.

JASmius adds: Or a sane one. Judging by the above backflip, I'd wager Dirty Harry is either autistic or bipolar. From "the war in Iraq is lost" to "the military mission has long since been accomplished"? Even in the pre-Google days that would have given any Reid listener public relations whiplash.

Did we really lose the Senate to this lameoid?

UPDATE: Oh, and, hey hey and by the way, here's a communique from the enemy we've either lost to or beaten long since:

al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq are planning the first 'large-scale' terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on "a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki" in an attempt to "shake the Roman throne", a reference to the West. Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by al-Qaeda planners as a "change in the head of the company". The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq. [emphases added]

Sunni al Qaeda getting help from Shiite Iran, eh? Thought that was supposed to be "impossible." Kinda like how cooperation between bin Laden and Saddam Hussein used to be "impossible" until it was exposed and proven.

No matter how much Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and their sick breed want to insist that the war is [over, unwinnable, already won, a pink flamingo], our enemies [plural] just does not appear to be willing to cooperate.

If al Qaeda does succeed in nuking London (or Manhatten), anybody want to take bets on whether the Democrats will (1) become born-again (-again) hawks or (2) blame it on George W. Bush and demand a summit meeting between Crazy Nancy and Dirty Harry and bin Laden and Ahmadinejad wherein we'll promise to behead the President and Vice President Cheney live on CNN/al Jazeera in exchange for not incinerating any more of our cities?

This should explain why I don't work in Las Vegas....
