So why does Domenici think that aping the Donks is going to help him get re-elected? Besides, he won in 2002 by thirty points, if I recall correctly. Unless Bill Richardson is planning to relinquish the New Mexican governorship to challenge him, I can't fathom why he'd be this fearful.

The baffling thing is, the GOP base is willing to "continue our current strategy". Insists on it, as a matter of fact. So why does Domenici think that aping the Donks is going to help him get re-elected? Besides, he won in 2002 by thirty points, if I recall correctly.
