Out There
There is a thread over at DailyKos ranting about how *mean* Scott Pelley was to Ahmadinejad in his 60 Minutes interview. You know...the usual...Pelley is a puppet of the Bush Administration, Ahmadinejad is a head of state and should be treated with respect, and, you'll love this, CBS is at the disposal of the RNC and is really right wing. These people really are nuts.
Don't believe me? Check out this entry in the thread:
What it really comes down to is the stark lack...
of evidence the US has that clearly shows Iran (1) sponsors terrorism, and (2) is somehow supplying all sides in Iraq with weapons, which is patently absurd.
Yes, they financially back Hezbollah and Hamas, but both of those entities are legitimately involved in elected governments through fair, democratic elections. (Can Bush honestly say that?)
Remember, without Hamas, many Palestinians would simply cease to exist. Likewise, Hezbollah is deeply embedded into Lebanese society and culture, and without their social programs; the standard of life for many Lebanese people would suffer.
And, Iran is involved with the government of Iraq because - despite their many conflicts throughout history - they're next-door neighbors, and, they've shared religion and culture for thousands of years. Of course they're going to maintain a close relationship, especially since we got rid of their number one enemy.
And yet, we never hear those facts. The only thing we hear about any of those three entities (Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas) is that they either (1) sponsor terrorists or (2) they're the terrorists themselves.
Hell, the only proof of anyone arming militants in Iraq is that we arm them - whether we intend to or not.
Still wonder whose side they're on? The terrorists are the *good* guys. The one about Hezbollah and their social programs is a real gem.

On Fox News, the Geraldo-thing is at Columbia University, interviewing students—fresh-faced, naïve fools, fetishizing “debate” with a beast who will celebrate their deaths, and use their idiocy to bring it about.

Did I mention that this woman is a Jewish lesbian? Which means she's both willing and eager to throw her entire personal identity under the bus for the sake of dhimmihood and Bushophobia.
Behold the puppetmasters of the Democrat Party, my fellow Americans; the self-same Democrat Party that is destined to run the table a year from now.
And "the diminutive Mahmoud" will be right behind them.

I want to be very clear. There are certainly many things about Ahmadinejad that I abhor — locking up dissidents, executing of gay folks, denying the fact of the Holocaust, potentially adding another dangerous nuclear power to the world and, in general, stifling democracy.
Even still, I can’t help but be turned on by his frank rhetoric calling out the horrors of the Bush Administration and, for that matter, generations of US foreign policy preceding.
