U.N. Lunacy

Wow, hard to know where to start with what has gone on at the U.N. the last couple of days. Hugo Chavez certainly stole the show yesterday, and also stole the hearts of the Democrats. He already had those, I guess, but they're coming right out and saying it now. From DU:

Bush is the Devil, the Anti-Christ, a despot, a tyrant, a war criminal. Bush is the greatest threat the world has faced since the days of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. I fully agree with Chavez's remarks, and I support his efforts to oppose Bush's wars of aggression and imperialist expansion. Viva Chavez! Viva Venezuela! Down with the Devil Bush! Chavez Condemns Bush at UN

That is but a sample of the ravings of the inmates on the leftwing blogs. Rush put it succinctly on his web site:

And of course he was treated with profound respect by media. CNN, did, as I predicted yesterday, show a side-by-side of President Bush and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Fox's anchorette was appropriately outraged and called Chavez a kook. But, you know, there's a reason why this stuff happens. There is a reason why these guys feel emboldened to come to our country, even though the United Nations is technically sovereign territory, it's still our soil, it's in New York City, there is a reason why these guys feel comfortable and even emboldened coming here saying these things, and I'm not going to pull any punches. It's because they're just echoing the president's enemies in this country, be they the American left, some members of the Democratic Party, and all of the Democrat left-wing blogosphere, many university professors had their sentiments echoed today by Hugo Chavez. We have one more sound bite, again with a female translator.

He's exactly right. Chavez didn't say anything that the Democrat leadership hasn't already said. Have you heard any of them condemn what he and the pipsqueak Ahmadinejad said on our soil, on the floor of the United Nations, which is supposed to be a place of peace and diplomacy? I agree with Rush, not only should we get out of the U.N., we need to kick them out of our country. Let them meet in some little third world dictatorship. They would be much more comfortable there. Rush has extensive coverage of this, follow the link.
