Bush ties Kerry in Maryland

Just when the folks in Brahminland thought they could heave a sigh of relief in Illinois and New York, now their lead in Maryland has completely disappeared.

And in New Jersey, which fell into the tossup category almost a month ago, they still haven't rebounded.

And they still trail narrowly or widely in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Iowa, New Mexico, Florida, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin...

And they've now decided that six weeks of semi-focus on convincing voters that Iraq is "another Vietnam" is going to turn this around when a full year and a half of the entire American left shrieking the same thing at triple-decibel levels did not? And with John Kerry as the messenger?

They'd be better off forging more memos.
