Was Hillary Bill's "Madame"?

For those of you who just can't get enough about Ed Klein's "unauthorized" biography of the Devil in a pink pantsuit, here are two more interesting takes.

First, Kathryn Jean Lopez:

As it happens, during the course of the The Truth — which is more In Touch weekly than New York Times — Klein talks a bit about sex (which, although not the whole of the book, has been the topic of most if not all of the walk-away headlines from it).

And for this, the Clintons — Bill and Hill — can be grateful.

Ironically, much ink has been used (or keys pounded) accusing conservatives of flacking for the book (who on the whole, aren't). The truth about The Truth is: It's a good thing for the Clinton Legacy Patrol. The advantage for the Clintons in the Klein job is one for the history books: It helps perpetuate the long-standing myth that the Bill Clinton impeachment trial was all about sex.

It wasn't.
Or, as somebody put it recently, "It's impossible to 'smear' the Clintons."

But there is an aspect of this angle that nobody is considering, says a Newsmax analysis:

What critics seem to want to avoid is Klein's claim that Hillary knew all along that her husband was carrying on an affair with Monica Lewinsky - and even approved of relationships with other White House women.

If Klein is right, Mrs. Clinton's cold acceptance of her husband's philandering shatters her image as marital victim, which turned out to be the biggest political asset of her 2000 Senate campaign.

As you might have deduced from these people's sordid history, there's a very big "other shoe" to be dropped:

Klein notes that Hillary's White House enforcer, Evelyn Lieberman, was assigned the task of keeping her husband out of trouble.

But Lieberman, says Klein, "adopted a hands off attitude when Bill Clinton indulged in affairs with women who were labeled 'safe' by the First Lady. As a result, several of Bill Clinton's former girlfriends, who were known as 'graduates,' were given cushy jobs at the White House." [emphasis added]

Moral corruption begets "official" corruption. And if Klein is right, Hillary Clinton was its chief orchestrater.

You know that the former First Female will play up the "can't play rough with the girl" angle to the hilt in 2008, even as she's squishing every set of testicles her upside-down legs can get their feet up to - just like she did in 2000 and will next year. But here is a character issue having to do not with sex (take one look at this hog - much less a listen - and tell me she'll have any sex skeltons falling out of her closet; God, she looks like Emperor Palpatine....) but with her cynical, bloodless, amoral, systematic facilitation of her husband's adulterous satyriasis. Can anybody out there really see this getting over in "Jesusland"?

It harkens back to my other main point about The Truth About Hillary: for the Clintons, the truth is far more dangerous than any "smear" ever could be.

And as a certain much-maligned Book says, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
