Read My Lips, No Closed Borders

I had a thoughtful and incisive post on immigration policy & politics all set to post before the frakking Blogger server ate it. That's an hour of my life I'll never get back, and I don't feel like investing another one.

Here and here are the relevant links. Suffice it to say Democrats beyond Hillary Clinton are starting to recognize illegal immigration and George W. Bush's cluelessness (and Republican cowardice) on the issue as their ticket back to the promised land of power.

The greater the leader, is seems, the bigger the blind spot. Hopefully it won't take thousands more dead American civilians to make the open-borders scales fall from Dubya's eyes.
