Why To Ignore "Hillary Shouldn't Run For Prez" NY Polls

Namely, polls like this one:

Almost six in ten New York voters say they would cast their ballots to re-elect Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton while those same voters are expressing very mixed feelings about one of her highest-profile potential challengers, a [Siena College Research Institute] poll reported Wednesday.

With these polling numbers, why on Earth should Mrs. Clinton fret about state polls showing that upwards of two-thirds of New York voters don't want her to run for president in 2008 if she's re-elected to her senate seat next fall?

You can also put speculation that she won't seek a second senate term in the same "shya, right!" category. She'll seek it, and she'll win, and then she'll run for president, and she'll win that, too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see her try to occupy both offices at the same time.

Heck, that's one thing Bill never managed to pull off.
