Well, We All Knew THIS

No surprise here. From Tim Chapman at Townhall.com:

Today's Roll Call headline screams "Democratic Agenda Off for 2005." Here's the lead:

National Democratic Party leaders have decided to punt on rolling out their 2006 agenda until next year, and will in part fill the time slot with a unity rally this Thursday to highlight fractures in the Republican camp and show why their party should be back in charge.

In other words, the Democratic agenda, which never was really "on," will continue business as usual. The agenda of attacking Republican ideas, while offering no alternatives, remains alive and well.

A Democratic aide sums it up perfectly,"This fall is not the time for Democrats to roll out a positive agenda."

Last week Democrats took unprecedented steps in the United States Senate when they invoked Rule XXI and shut down the U.S. Senate. Senate Democrats claimed that they had to take these unprecedented measures because the American people demanded it. For a party that is so in tune with the will of the American people, they are surprisingly bereft of ideas and vision.

No kidding. All they have are vicious attacks, lies, and distortions about the President, our military, our very country. These people are dangerous, in my opinion, because they are so focused on regaining their power and destroying this President that they have no concern whatsoever about what their words and actions do to the security of America. And they want to be put back in charge? What a NIGHTMARE that would be. We simply can't let that happen.

JAS adds: Why wouldn't the Donks postpone rolling out a "positive agenda" they don't have? They think that Tuesday's election results have all but handed them back Congress next year and the White House in 2008 (or maybe sooner...). They think they've already won. They think the American people have "come to their senses" based upon two gubernatorial races and a handful of high-profile California initatives. And they think it's their seditious, obstructionist lunacy that did the trick.

That they are setting themselves up for another crushing fall (which pretty much describes any result short of retaking both the House and Senate outright) that will simply restoke their crazy extremist paranoia (about "stolen elections" and such) is, by this time, so obviously foreshadowed that I almost feel like posting boilerplate commentary in advance so that I can sleep in the morning after Election Day a year from now.

Frankly, I don't know what can break that cycle, short of decisively defeating Hillary Clinton in 2008. Probably nothing.

If only Mrs. Clinton was beatable....
