The Elasticity Of Patriotism, Take Deux

I had a tremendous post going on this topic almost complete yesterday when my accursed browser crashed yet again, taking the whole essay down with it. Rarely do I know rage like when something like this happens, and this was the second time in four days. Something my blood pressure does not need. That’s why I’ve taken (at home, anyway) to composing these things in Word and then clipboarding them over to the Blogger window. As used to be said about the Holocaust, "Never again."

Even reflecting upon on it now is starting to raise the red haze before my eyes, so I’ll just provide the link to Brother Hinderaker’s take on the BBC-produced Ameriphobic hit job "docudrama," Death of a President, which depicts their evidently hoped-for future assassination of President Bush and the ensuing willing embrace by we, the American people, of a Nazi police state masterminded by their imagined Prince of Darkness, current Vice President Richard Bruce Cheney, that proceeds to transform American Muslims into the equivalent of European Jews of the (last) Hitler era.

Rocketman alternately describes this film as "liberal wish-fulfillment," "insane," and "bullshit." All par for the course from the BBC, but it’s premiering at the Toronto Film Festival next month, and you can bet that a debut on American television during the November or February sweeps won’t be far behind.

Well, the Lefties will need something to cheer them up after their latest election failure….
