Groannnnn....

Man, it's gonna be a looong two years. Now we have Charles Rangel grandstanding and wasting time with his ridiculous pretense of wanting to bring back the draft. I wish that addled idiot would retire. Then there's John McCain still spouting about needing more troops. Never mind that General Abizaid, the commander, the person who has actually been there and knows what he's talking about, has said it isn't necessary. No, these guys know more about it than he does, right?

Democrats and RINOS are enough to make one want to barf.

JASmius adds: Perhaps if President Bush had not tried to fight the GWOT on the cheap by limiting military operations to just Iraq, we wouldn't be in the current state of affairs. Because of that the very idea of fighting the Islamists "over there" has suffered a discrediting that only another of their attacks "over here" can overcome.

That's one reason among many why the next two years, however long we perceive them to be, will likely be just the beginning.

UPDATE: Looks like Crazy Nancy isn't taking Charlie Rangel's bait - or Barney Frank's.

Dean Barnett makes a very sage observation today:

Of course the generals don’t much care for either the Rangel plan or the Frank/Meehan move. It is odd that after four years of hearing how “we must listen to the generals” from the Democrats, now that they’re in the majority they have grown oddly indifferent to the generals’ suggestions and wishes.

But of course. They've served their purpose; now they're the enemy again.

What did you expect from Democrats? Loyalty?
