Dubya's Tribute to Jerry Ford?

Look who is the frontrunner to replace National Intelligence Czar John Negroponte:

Negroponte's likely successor as head of U.S. intelligence is retired Admiral Mike McConnell, director of the National Security Agency from 1992 to 1996 under former President Bill Clinton. [emphasis added]

Double-H ponders if this is a good move. I think the chief selection criterion was "confirmability." Which means, in all likelihood, one more step towards the next 9/11.
