Jerry Falwell, R.I.P.

Okay, I'm a little late in getting to this, but I wanted to give my thoughts on the late Rev. Jerry Falwell.

I loved the guy. We used to have his "Old Time Gospel Hour" on T.V. every Sunday morning while we were getting ready for church. My kids were toddlers then, they called him "Uncle Jerry." Great preaching, great music, great man. My husband visited Liberty University and had the privilege of meeting Rev. Falwell. He said he was just a regular guy; very friendly, gregarious, generous. The students loved him. Mark (my husband) went to a Liberty University basketball game and when Rev. Falwell walked in, the students stood and cheered.

Ann Coulter expresses my feelings towards Rev. Falwell very nicely in her latest column. The fact that the Left hated Falwell almost as much as they hate Bush should tell you something. Predictably, the Left's kook blogs are dancing with glee on his grave. Yet...WE are the haters, dividers, and intolerant ones. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm sure I know where Jerry Falwell is. He's sitting with his beloved Jesus, finally resting from his toils here on earth. Rest in Peace, Rev. Falwell.
