Fred Thompson on Harry Reid

Fred nails it.

Here's the last paragraph:

But Reid's comments are not meant for logical analysis. He proclaimed the war lost some time ago, and the surge as a failure even before the additional troops were on the ground. The problem is that every one of Reid's comments I've noted here has also been reported gleefully by Al Jazeera and other anti-American media. Whether he means to or not, he’s encouraging our enemies to believe that they are winning the critical war of will.

Amen, Fred. Sadly, that's exactly what he wants.

JASmius adds: We ARE losing "the critical war of will". Otherwise the Dems wouldn't have regained Congress last November. It's not as though they'd been keeping their boorish, obnoxious, defeatist agitating a secret the previous five years. Seven months ago it was finally rewarded and endorsed. And our national vigilence and resolve died with it.

It cost 3,000 lives to pull our national head out of our national backside six years ago. After Dirty Harry and Crazy Nancy, and ultimately President Rodham, shove it securely back in place, I shudder to think how much greater the price tag will be for the next collective rectal-cranial de-impaction.

Ironic - and perhaps fitting - that it's Ready Freddie that points this out, since he's the last, best hope of averting a most unnecessary and grisly fate.

UPDATE: You can listen to Thompson rip Dirty Harry here.
