Violent Pacifism

Someone threatened to assassinate President Bush this week.

Oh, sure, there are, have always been, and will always be cranks and kooks and nutballs who make homocidal threats against whoever the President happens to be at any given time. Comes with the territory. And we all know that more than a few on the Left have come to harbor murderous hostility against the current Oval Office occupant that has been expressed in bumper stickers, books, and even an off-broadway play.

But Betty Williams is a Nobel "Peace" Prize winner. And she's issued this threat more than once.

Shouldn't this woman be getting a long-overdue visit from the Secret Service? Just for giggles, if nothing else?
