Islamism & Americanism

Can an Islamic Fundamentalist be a good American? This is something many have wondered about for some time now: How and why do radical Muslims hate us and everyone else so much? Doesn't their god teach them to love? Can an Islamic Fundamentalist also be a good American?

This question was sent to someone who worked in Saudi Arabia for twenty years. The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah exceptIslam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government (except, at the moment, for Turkey's and Iraq's) is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christians' God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.

This is not to say we should be very suspicious of ALL Muslims. There are doubless many here who are "good Americans," and many more overseas who will side with us as long as we continue to be seen as "the strong horse" in the war against their radical brethren. And, well, God knows it isn't in our interest to be at war with ALL of Islam. But they are at odds with what their religion teaches and demands of them, and are seen by Islamists as infidels and heretics. There obviously cannot be both"good" Muslims and "good" Americans, or friends of same.

This is why we cannot quit the war as the American Left is so fanatically determined to do. Defeat the terrorists (al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas), defeat their state sponsors (Iran, Syria) and Islamic Fundamentalism can be excised from the collective human psyche like the cancer it is. Or, if you're of a more Tancreden bent, look at it as successfully subverting an aboriginal strain of centuries-old fascism into long term apostasy. Run away from the terrorists, hand an entire region of the planet for which American servicepeople have already bled and died over to triumphalist enemies who have or shortly will gain both ICBMs and nuclear warheads to go with them, and the ranks of "good" Muslims will swell like Bill Clinton at a beauty pageant.

Tom Tancredo is a crank whose presence in the GOP presidential field is as big a waste of space as Ron Paul's. But his loony threats to bomb Mecca and Medina are far less damaging than Hugh Hewitt believes because Tancredo has about as much of a chance at the GOP nomination (forget the White House itself) as I have of being the next Justin Timberlake. It is doggerrel like that of Barack Obama, the odds-on favorite to be the next vice president of the United States, that has already buried Tancredo by covering both bases with the credibility that comes with being somebody who could conceivably be in a position to carry them out in the not-too-distant future.
Or, far more likely, just the retreat from Iraq. But that would be enough to make, if not every Muslim an Islamist, then a whole helluva lot more than there were before.
