Can I Get An AMEN?
Oh my gosh, Barack Obama is playing the Jesus card. Not very well, but he's playing it. Check this out:
He finished his brief remarks by saying, "We're going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."
Yeah, and we know just what kind of Kingdom you want, Rev. A Kingdom where marriage is whatever you want it to be, where babies are expendable if they're going to get in your way, where "anything goes." This might be what you're after, but it sure ain't something Jesus is going to want to be a part of.
Imagine with me, if you will, a Republican candidate preaching from a church pulpit during a campaign. Can you hear the shrill cries of "CHURCH AND STATE!!!" ? However, he's a Democrat, so it's okay for the Right Reverend Obamaramalama.
This is so totally transparent. It's nothing more than pandering, but there are those on the Left who will lap it up. If this were not politically motivated, why say this after the service?
Republicans no longer have a firm grip on religion in political discourse, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama told Sunday worshippers.
If you are there to worship the Lord, why are you bringing politics into it?
"I think that what you're seeing is a breaking down of the sharp divisions that existed maybe during the '90s," said Obama. "At least in politics, the perception was that the Democrats were fearful of talking about faith, and on the other hand you had the Republicans who had a particular brand of faith that oftentimes seemed intolerant or pushed people away."
But he's just there to praise the Lord! Why, doesn't the above just oooooze unity? Oh, and *sincerity*?
Gag me with a hymnal.
