Dare We Hope??

It's beginning to look like the crusty old Virginia Senator Robert Byrd may be in a little trouble.

"A new poll shows Senator Robert Byrd and Representative Shelley Moore Capito could run neck and neck in a possible campaign for the Senate seat now held by Byrd."

My goodness, do we dare entertain the hope that Byrd will go the way of Carol Moseley Braun and Tom Daschle? I'd be willing to bet that Capito would get outside her state contributions in much the same way that South Dakota's John Thune did. We might want to extract a promise from her, though, not to stab us in the back the way Thune is regarding John Bolton's nomination.
