Rove On A Roll

The Democrats are in a tizzy over comments made by Karl Rove regarding the liberal response to 9-11.

"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Mr. Rove, the senior political adviser to President Bush, said at a fund-raiser in Midtown for the Conservative Party of New York State.

Truer words were never spoken.

Mr. Rove also said American armed forces overseas were in more jeopardy as a result of remarks last week by Senator Richard J. Durbin, Democrat of Illinois, who compared American mistreatment of detainees to the acts of "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime - Pol Pot or others."

"Has there ever been a more revealing moment this year?" Mr. Rove asked. "Let me just put this in fairly simple terms: al Jazeera now broadcasts the words of Senator Durbin to the Mideast, certainly putting our troops in greater danger. No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals."

More absolute truth. The same Democrats who had little or nothing to say about Durbin's outrageous remarks are stunned, STUNNED, by Rove's. The difference being, of course, that Rove's words are true and Durbin's have no basis in reality.

Told of Mr. Rove's remarks, Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, replied: "In New York, where everyone unified after 9/11, the last thing we need is somebody who seeks to divide us for political purposes."

I'll give you a moment to digest the sheer, naked perversity of that statement by a Democrat, and by no less than Charles Schumer, the Grand Poohbah of divisive politics. These guys really do have no shame.

Karl Rove tells it like it is, and he is exactly right. The liberal response has been weak and 9-11 used for their political gain. It would have been an absolute nightmare if Al Gore had been President when 9-11 happened. Can you imagine the Democrats in charge of national security at a time like this? They have shown their true colors since it happened, only now it's not quite as easy to smooth it over with the advent of alternative media. Every time Nancy Pelosi opens her mouth, something stupid falls out regarding the War on Terror. She wants a specific date regarding when we will pull out of Iraq. How dumb is that??

In his recent column, "Coddling the Enemy," David Limbaugh points out the Left's appalling lack of understanding of the War.

What the Democratic Party leadership obviously fails to recognize is that we are in a war of global reach, and there's no end in sight - literally. And our enemy would be no less committed to our destruction if we immediately withdrew from Iraq or gave every Gitmo prisoner daily bubble baths.

What you have to realize, as has been said again and again, is that the Democrats do not want America to win the War on Terror, not while there is a Republican in the White House. They are perfectly willing to put our military and our national security at risk in order to try and regain their power. It is their party that is in a quagmire, not our military. I think they will stay there for a long time.
