Right On Schedule

Multiple simultaneous suicide bomb attacks on Western soft targets (in yesterday's case, three hotels frequented by Americans and Israelis in Amman, Jordan), dozens (of Muslims, as it happened - gee, who'da thunk that?) killed and hundreds maimed - WHO COULD HAVE DONE SUCH A THING???

C'mon, you didn't think I was serious, did you?

Al-Qaida claimed responsibility Thursday for three suicide bomb attacks on Western hotels that killed at least 56 people in the Jordanian capital, and the terror group's Web posting linked the deadly blasts to the war in Iraq....

The al-Qaida claim, which could not be independently verified [uh-huh], said Jordan became a target because it was "a backyard garden for the enemies of the religion, Jews and crusaders ... a filthy place for the traitors ... and a center for prostitution."

Just another day at the office for our old and dear friend, Emir Zarqawi. This one just happened to get through.

Now if we would stop fooling around and liberate Syria and Iran, cutting off Zarqawi from resources, resupply, and refuge, perhaps such attempts, infrequently successful as they are, could be eliminated altogether.

But that's another well-hoed row.
