This Says It All

Not a real shock, but unnerving at least. From Newsmax:

Democrats have given Saddam Hussein a shocking vote of confidence in the latest Fox News Opinion Dynamics survey, with a solid plurality saying the world would be better off if the Butcher of Baghdad was still in power.

Forty-one percent of Democrats gave Saddam a thumbs up, while just 34 percent said Iraq is better served with the murderous dictator gone, reports the New York Post.

In stark contrast, 78 percent of Republicans said toppling the mass-murdering leader left everyone better off. Just 10 percent said they wished Saddam still ruled Iraq.

On the question of whether President Bush lied to the American people about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction, 72 percent of Democrats say he did.

Seventy-nine percent of Republicans disagreed, however -- saying that Bush gave the American people the best intelligence he had at the time.

Choose your side.

JAS adds: I may have to revise my quasi-pessimism about GOP chances in next year's congressional elections. As much as Republicans are trying to piss away their majorities, Democrats appear even more determined to expand them.

Was their any isolationist during or after World War II who publicly declared that Europe would be better off if Adolph Hitler had been left in power? Are Democrats even capable of looking at the most gapingly unambiguous moral questions without feeding them through a Bushophobic meat-grinder? Are you tired of all these rhetorical questions yet?

Still, this one is the most astonishing yet. God knows what they'll come up with next.

And to think that all it took was the President defending the war for longer than a few days at a time.

Amazing what a little sustained attention to public relations can do for one's political fortunes.
