Useful Idiots
Interesting call on Rush's program yesterday. The caller was talking about how diplomacy doesn't work with a lunatic like the president of Iran, and part of Rush's answer was this:
With our troops on two of Iran's borders, in Afghanistan and Iraq, they don't care. They're not intimidated because they know that there's been enough unrest and dissension and they know that the Democratic Party in this country is their ally. The Democratic Party and the American left and the kooks have sufficiently seen to it that there's no national unity here on the war in Iraq or the war on terror, and that there's no way the people of this country are going to sit back and watch us go after Iran, not if it's ever announced in advance and we do the debate like we did leading into Iraq.
Thank you, Democrats. You do your level best to make sure America doesn't triumph. Bush is going to have to do something about Iran, though, Democrats or no Democrats. Personally, I think he should find out where Ahmedinejad is for sure and bomb him into oblivion. THEN take out their reactors. Of course we'd be the bad guys with the Left, we always are. But we wouldn't have to worry about nukes in the hands of Iran. I don't understand why that thought doesn't scare them, too. Is political power really worth taking that chance?
JASmius adds: When you think about it, the mindlessly intractible hatred of the President by the Left should be liberating to him. Ditto his supposedly low poll numbers. If Dubya was willing to take necessary action against Saddam Hussein in the face of a tough re-election challenge, what would he possibly have to lose by saving the world from a nuclear mullahgarchy now?
