Donkey Droppings
Patriotism isn't entirely obsolete; but in a party that thinks that "the good guys won" in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, it's on life support at best.

Well, looky what we have here - another Clinton scandal! Isn't that novel?
What a typical Clinton racket. Mr. Bill sells a pardon - to a carnival outfit! - to clear the decks for them to get inside bids on government contracts, and uses his brother-in-law as the bagman. And he did so "over the objections" of his own compromised, corrupted Justice Department to boot.
And the kicker? The Gregorys contributed ten grand to Hillary's Senate campaign, half of it before she was elected in 2000. Man, they were covering all the bases - and buying a political futures contract at the same time.
Think this'll come up in Hillary's presidential campaign? Or that the Bush Justice Department will give any of it a second glance, much less a first? If so, I've got some time-shares in Beirut to show you - assuming Sick Willie doesn't pawn them off on you first.

Jeff Goldstein, the proprietor of Protein Wisdom, has gotten big enough in the blogging game to attract the attention of the criminal Left. I'll leave the details of the disgusting personal attacks and threats in the Michelle Malkin link, as I don't have time to fumigate this morning.
Fortunately, the University of Arizona adjunct faculty member responsible for this vile harassment wasn't very discrete about it and is now a former adjunct faculty member. The next step is to drag this scumbag away to the nuthatch, just on general principles.
Makes me feel a little less frustrated about being stuck in "adorable rodentia."

Pity the Wildcats are the exception to the academic rule. Otherwise, "A part-time University of Wisconsin instructor who believes U.S. government officials orchestrated the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks" would not be being allowed to teach a course on Islam.
You know - the "good guys".

Crazy Nancy losing her grip? Sheesh, I was saying that a long time ago.
Now, though, her own House Democrat caucus seems to be catching up to that realization:
Taking attendance, eh? Gives a whole new meaning to the term "roll call," doesn't it?
Rather than get all bent out of shape at so few Donks showing up at her "mandatory" meetings, perhaps Pelosi should be pondering the reason(s) for their chronic absenteeism. After all, elected officeholders are independent contractors, not employees. Since they elected her to her leadership position, if anything, she works for them. And if this is the 'tude she's pulling on them, it's no wonder so many House Dems have found other things to do than be patronized by a self-imagined no-nonsense schoolmarm (with the Halloween-mask face and the wrinkly cleavage - I think that might also be a factor, but that's just my aesthetic sense refusing to shut up).
After November 8th, it may also be reason enough for them to find new leadership, given that the job of which she dreams - the Speakership - will be as out of reach as it ever was.

Anthony D. Rodham, one of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's two brothers, got the loans from United Shows of America Inc. after its owners obtained the presidential pardon in March 2000 over the objections of the Justice Department.
Michael E. Collins, trustee for United Shows, filed papers in Alexandria bankruptcy court seeking the return of $107,000 plus $46,034 in interest from Mr. Rodham, 51, for the loans he received from the carnival company, which went bankrupt in 2002.
Mr. Rodham "received the benefit of the loans without making any repayment," reads a related document filed last year in bankruptcy court in Nashville, Tennessee....
According to bankruptcy court records, Tony Rodham began to receive the loan checks on May 10, 2000. The final loan of $2,500 was made on February 12, 2002, about six months before United Shows filed for bankruptcy protection.

Crazy Nancy losing her grip? Sheesh, I was saying that a long time ago.
Now, though, her own House Democrat caucus seems to be catching up to that realization:
With attendance typically struggling to crack the 50-Member mark, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA) is cracking the whip, demanding that her fellow Democrats attend three “crucial” Caucus meetings between now and the August recess — an order supplemented by a fellow leader’s hint that failure to cooperate could be detrimental to Members’ futures.
In a “Dear Colleague” letter sent early Tuesday afternoon, Pelosi told Members that attendance will be taken at the weekly hour-long sessions this morning and each of the next two Wednesdays, with Democrats using the sessions to discuss their “New Direction” agenda. “These crucial meetings will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end promptly at 10:00 a.m.,” Pelosi wrote. “The meetings are mandatory and I have asked [Caucus Chairman James Clyburn (S.C.)] to take attendance.”
