Another GOP Straw Poll

This one is actually interesting in one sense: it shows the steady rise of Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, mostly at the expense of, ironically, John McCain and George Allen. I was also surprised to see such an uptick for Newt Gingrich.
Rudy Giuliani remains much stronger than he ought to (or ultimately will) be. Given his extreme social liberalism and Mr. Newt's unelectability, this confirms my hunch that Romney will emerge as the front-runner as 2008 approaches.
I hope he cleans his skeleton closet thoroughly before then, because the Clinton machine will ransack it with abandon.
