Economists Surprised Again
Have you noticed how often we see that phrase? How "surprised" the economists are that the economy is doing so well? How they have to "upgrade" their forecasts because they were wrong again? Today's version:
Economists are hastily upgrading their forecasts for the US economy after a series of surprisingly strong reports suggesting the so-called "soft landing" may be over and growth is accelerating.
Over the past week, surprises have come in stronger-than-expected reports on US job creation, the trade balance and retail sales - all key contributors to economic activity.
Maybe these guys aren't as smart as they think they are! The economy is doing splendidly. However, that fact is not widely reported because the leftists in the media don't like that to happen when there is a Republican in office. Seems that's when the economy does well, though. Funny how that happens.
JASmius adds: The Democrats haven't had enough time to screw it up yet, that's all. Just wait until they link continued war funding to repealing both Bush tax cuts, and then double-cross Dubya after he caves and raise taxes anyway. By this time next year the economy will have begun its plunge, and the Enemy Media will be blaming Bush and the GOP for it and crying out to Hillary to save us.
This, as it is written, is where I will have come in.
