The Bush Derangement Cycle

1) A bridge collapses near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Number of dead and wounded yet to be determined.

2) The nutroots to whose lunatic tune the Democrat Party dances immediately blame the tragedy on President Bush and the war in Iraq.

3) Within fewer than twenty-four hours, congressional Democrats follow suit, blasting the White House for "not 'investing' enough in infrastructure" the resources we've had to devote to....fighting the war for our national existence against the bloodthirsty Global Jihad.

Emailed a senate Republican aide to K-Lo:

They are still pulling people out of the ^%$#^%$ water up there, and this schmuck [Harry Reid] is playing politics? If true, he needs to apologize publicly and loudly.
No, Republicans need to denounce him en masse, publicly and loudly. Will they? I doubt it.

It reminds me of Magneto's line in X-Men III after uprooting the Golden Gate Bridge and redirecting it to Alcatraz Island: "Charles [Xavier, the deceased X-Men leader] always did want to build bridges." In this case, the Democrats want to turn a collapsed bridge into another hurricane, and wade through the blood of the victims to attain more power.

Again.

And they'll keep right on doing it until somebody, figuratively or literally, kicks their asses.

UPDATE: Okay, not all the nutters blamed the Minneapolis bridge collapse on Bush - at least one smeared Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty instead for vetoing state tax increases.

Funny how, by comparison, a contention that manifestly idiotic sounds almost sane. And yet it is people like this that the American people restored to power in Congress last November.

Hilarious.
