Breakin' Da Law, Breakin' Da Law

Say, could John Kerry’s phone call to Robert "Friar Tuck" Brant, Commander, USN (ret) the other day have been a violation of the Campaign Finance Reform Act? The Swiftboat Veterans for Truth seem to think so.

The New York Post reported today: "Sean McCabe, a spokesman for the 264-member organization, said it plans to send a cease-and-desist letter warning Kerry 'to stop calling our members,' because it's an independent '527' group and it's illegal for campaigns to contact them."

“The senator was breaking the law and should have immediately ended the call when Brant said he was a member of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends reported this morning,” adds

Kind of casts Kerry’s demand that Bush specifically condemn the Swifties in a bit of a different light, doesn’t it?
