Guess Who Was AWOL On Intelligence Reform?

Remember last week when Kerry crapped on the President for not ripping a hamstring “rushing” to implement all the 9/11 commission recommendations, most especially a new “intelligence czar”? Well, in January 2003 the Dem ticket’s colleague, Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), introduced legislation, entitled the Intelligence Community Leadership Act, that would have done just that. The bill had six co-sponsors, but two names not among the half-dozen were…John Kerry and John Edwards. And Opie was on the Senate Intelligence Committee at the time, and Lurch was from 1993 to 2000, the very period in which al Qaeda rose to the level of major national security threat.

"If he thinks it is so important now, why wouldn't he have stepped up before and drafted legislation?" a GOP staffer rhetorically asked CSNews.com. "Senator Kerry is not on that legislation, nor is Senator Edwards, so it begs the question of who is politicizing what, where, when, and why."

The end of Dr. Strangelove didn’t have this many pies in the face.
