"Fortunate Son" Is Pulling Away

Meanwhile, the President addressed the National Guard Association in Las Vegas yesterday and received standing ovation after standing ovation. He also has opened up a double-digit lead in Ohio, an eight-point lead in Wisconsin, a four-point lead in Nevada, a five-point lead in Florida, a three-point edge in Pennsylvania. And he’s closed to within six points in New York, four points in Illinois, and taken a four-point lead in New Jersey.

I show Bush up a little under four points in my polling composite (which HAS to be a low-ball number if Kerry is collapsing in states as “blue” as New York, Illinois, and New Jersey), and his Electoral College lead based upon state-by-state polling at 274-164. IOW, right now he’s already over the top, and that doesn’t include Colorado, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, or Nevada, all in which the President leads within the margin of error.

If this “fortunate son” crap is either slowing Dubya’s momentum or knocking him off-kilter, I have yet to see evidence for either one.
