Iranian Election Monitors, Cuban Phone Banks, and the KLA Resurfaces
The array of world model citizens backing John Kerry continues to grow.
Yesterday, "Iran's hardline Basij militia has written to UN secretary general Kofi Annan to ask if the Islamic republic can send observers to the US presidential election in November, a government newspaper said on Monday.
"'By this symbolic request, we want to ridicule the so-called democratic slogans of the American leaders,' a Basij official, Said Toutunshian, told the Iran newspaper. 'We want to say to the whole world that the presence of observers from the Islamic republic of Iran, the most democratic regime in the world, is necessary to guarantee the smooth running of the American elections.'"
Does anybody doubt that John Kerry - who is all but on Tehran's payroll as it is - would welcome them with open arms? Perhaps as a "gesture of peace and goodwill."
Today, "A multitude of unlikely volunteers is working the phones for Senator John Kerry in the swing state of Florida. His campaign is unaware of the support, as the volunteers do not live in the United States, but in Communist-run Cuba.
"Cubans, angered by a recent Bush Administration measure restricting visits home by Cuban-Americans, say they are lobbying relatives hard to vote against the President just two weeks before Election Day."
Note the link. This is the same ABC that sent a film crew to Communist Vietnam to get pro-Kerry testimonials from ex-Viet Cong guerrillas. Now they go to Castroite Cuba to "interview Cubans" as though they are free to speak their true minds.
Does anybody doubt that Kerry would normalize relations with Castro as well? Heck, since the Iranians claim they don't want the nuclear fuel he would offer them, maybe Castro would take it off of Lurch's hands.
Also today: "John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate, is being given money by an Albanian terrorist organization known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA or UCK in Albanian). The KLA is currently smuggling weapons into Kosovo as part of a plot to attack American and other UN peacekeepers, should the UN Security Counsel refuse their demand for Kosovo's secession from Serbia and Montenegro.
In order to fully understand the significance of John Kerry's involvement with the KLA it is first necessary to understand what sort of an organization the KLA is. The KLA is a terrorist organization with ties to Osama bin Laden and the Iranian government. The KLA's main objective is to break Kosovo, which has been an integral part of Serbia for centuries, away from Serbia.
And the KLA was the primary beneficiary of Bill Clinton's unprovoked attack against Serbia back in 1999 - a war every bit as genuinely "unilateralist," "illegal," self-serving, and "misleading" as Democrats mendaciously claim about Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The closing days of this campaign are becoming like a dream walk through a Michael Moore LSD trip (or cheeseburger-overdose delirium). Things are happening that can't be happening. The pages of the calendar are flipping back to 1984, only not the "It's morning in America" version.
One would think that such developments would be lethal for the Kerryians, but at this point nothing that comes about about this man seems to be making any measurable impact. Maybe it will on Election Day and the polls aren't picking up on it. But that's an awfully shaky reed on which to lean.
Whether myself, or far too large a plurality of the electorate, somebody had better wake up soon before something tragic and irreparable happens - regardless of who ultimately wins.
