Hillary's In Trouble Now

....Look who might submarine her from her left flank:

Will Cindy Sheehan challenge Hillary Clinton for her Senate seat in 2006?

That's the proposition percolating throughout New York's anti-war left, which has grown increasingly frustrated with Senator Clinton's refusal to denounce the Bush Administration's Iraq policy.

I'll give everybody a chance to catch their breath after the fits of hysterical laughter have finally subsided....

....Ready? Okay, let's continue:

The Village Voice reports that last month, Don DeBar, a veteran peace activist from Ossning, proposed a Draft Sheehan effort....

DeBar wants Sheehan to move from her home state of California to challenge Clinton in New York's primaries next year, telling the Voice, "She could force a seismic shift in the direction of the Democratic Party."

Only if all those Donks stampede toward the insane asylums all at once....

At a Brooklyn peace rally last month, Sheehan reminded the crowd of her efforts to "call out the pro-war Democrats," charging that, "Hillary Clinton is the leader of the pack."

"It's time to tell your elected officials," she railed, "If you're not with us, you're against us. And if you're against us, we'll vote you out of office."
"If you're not with us, you're against us"? Isn't that a rather...well, Bush-like thing to say? Was Cindy even aware of the irony? Is she aware of whether or not she's put on pants before going out every morning?

And is Hillary not absolutely loving this publicity casting her as an arch-hawk on defense and foreign policy with 2008 on the horizon?

I said you can't make this stuff up. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Cindy is secretly on Hillary's payroll. Maybe after Mrs. Clinton is back in the White House, she'll make Cindy her Secretary of Defense.

Let 'em put THAT one to the test....
