Neck & Neck

Remember the old "50-50 nation" paradigm from the first Bush term? It appears to be actually manifesting itself a couple of years after the fact.

My Senate projections seem to be settling in at a four-seat Democrat pickup and a 51-49 GOP split. Meanwhile, my House projections are a literal teeter-totter, with the two parties playing hot potato with a 218-217 advantage.

Remember Al Gore's post-2000 election Florida uprising? Now picture that in upwards of a dozen disputed outcomes in House races (and perhaps a Senate contest or two) across the country if the Democrats end up falling short. Bottom line is, either the Donks win outright or we don't learn who'll actually control Congress for weeks yet.

One thing appears certain: the Democrats will not accept another defeat. Which underscores all the more how critical it is that EVERY eligible center-right voter get out and pull the "R" level on Tuesday. Otherwise "cut & run conservatives" will not escape the fallout (no pun intended, BTW) from the "lesson" they deludedly think they'll be teaching the GOP.

To tweak the blogfather's favorite adage, "It's a lot harder to stick up an election when you're doing the splits."
