It's Official
The people in Louisiana must be waterlogged. First New Orleans re-elects Ray Nagin, now William Jefferson has been re-elected.
U.S. Representative William Jefferson easily defeated his fellow Democratic opponent in a runoff election Saturday, despite an ongoing federal bribery investigation.
In complete but unofficial returns, Jefferson, Louisiana’s first black congressman since Reconstruction, received 57% of the vote over state Representative Karen Carter, who had 43%.
I stopped donating to anything to do with the Katrina effort when the idiots chose Nagin again. This just solidifies my opinion that the people there don't deserve my support. Now all they have to do is re-elect Blanco when she is up for re-election, and the triple threat will be complete. I'm sure they'll do it.
JASmius adds: D'ya think Icebox Willie will be sending a thank-you note to outgoing Speaker Denny Hastert (You know, the ringleader of the "Republican culture of corruption") for sticking up for him this past year?
I guess not all "corruption cultures" are created equal....
