My Big, Fat, Obnoxious, Murderous Husband
Carla Sauer Iyer dropped a daisy-cutter on Fox News' Fox and Friends yesterday:
Hearsay, you say? But it’s testimony no less credible than Schiavo’s claimed recollection of Terri making an offhand comment while watching TV movie years before that she wouldn’t want to be kept artificially alive – which is not her condition now in any case. And state judges, a federal judge, and an appellate court have all taken his “hearsay” as engraved gospel.
The difference, of course, is that the latter is the foundation of Schiavo’s drive to kill his wife. Allow the former and his custodianship would vanish like a sneeze in a tornado.
Odd that the nursing director was mad at Ms. Iyer for doing what any commonsensical citizen would presumably have done when confronting a possible attempted homicide. Was the Palm Garden management in cahoots with Schiavo?
Because, of course, “vegetables” don’t eat solid food. And he was all but dressing Terri up in a carrot costume.
And maybe, just maybe, Michael Schiavo would already be behind bars, where he belongs.
UPDATE: Two additional nurses (Heidi Law and Carolyn Johnson) have filed affidavits in the Terri Schiavo case that corroborate Carla Sauer Iyer's story.
The way these various parallel tracks are converging, the death cult may end up in a good news/bad new scenario: on the one hand, Terri Schiavo will be dead; on the other hand, she'll become a martyr who will have a vastly greater impact against their cause then she ever could have if her scumbag husband had just let her parents take custody of her and walked away.
Winning a battle, IOW, but losing the war.
Or, to quote the future philosopher Nyota Uhura, "Be careful what you wish for; you may get it."
UPDATE II: Heidi Law told her account of Terri Schiavo's abuse at the hands of her scumbag husband to Sean Hannity this afternoon.
Interesting that Judge Greer dismisses this eyewitness testimony as "incredible." I guess that would include any version of events that doesn't come pre-vetted by the Hemlock Society.
But the scumbag is credible.
What a judge of character. I'd love to sell a used car to this man.
More evidence that Schiavo’s claim that his wife has been in a “persistent vegetative state” is horsecrap. From April 1995 to August 1996, Carla Sauer Iyer was one of Terri Schiavo's caretakers at Palm Garden in Largo, Florida. [S]he gave a frightening account of Michael Schiavo's actions and words, and also a hopeful description of Terri Schiavo's condition at that time.
Ms. Iyer said that Terri could:· Interact with staff.
· Laugh.
· Talk - saying words like "mommy," "help me" and "hi."
· Let you know if she was in pain.
· React reflexively on command.
Interviewer Steve Doocey asked Carla why, in her opinion, Michael Schiavo was not telling people this. She answered that she believes "he wants her to die."Here is where business begins to pick up:
Doocey then revealed that Carla was fired from the care facility because of a disagreement with Michael Schiavo in an incident where she claims he injected Terri with insulin.Sooooo. Hubby-wubby may have tried to snuff his wife personally after all.
Ms. Iyer said that after Michael visited Terri one day for about 20 minutes, with the door shut, she went in after he left and saw Terri sweating, lethargic and "crying hysterically."
Carla checked Terri's blood sugar, and it was barely reading on the glucometer. She also saw a vial of "insulin concealed in the trash bin."
According to Carla, there were needle marks underneath Terri's breast, under her arms and near her groin. Carla talked to the police and then went to the director of nursing, who was very upset that Carla had gone to the police.

She doesn't think Michael Schiavo was a caring husband and claimed to Fox News that he refused to send Terri to rehabilitation of any kind.Of course not. He couldn’t very well get rid of Terri and not end up in prison for the rest of his life (or dead) if he allowed any treatment that would even superficially “de-vegetate” her.
Doocey then said that he had heard a story from another nurse who tried to feed Terri, and when Michael Schiavo found out about it, in Doocey's words, "it all hit the fan."
Carla concurred, saying that Terri could be fed by mouth - jello and pudding, etc. - without aspirating, but that when Michael found out Terri was being fed by mouth, he told the nurses he was going to get them fired.
Because, of course, “vegetables” don’t eat solid food. And he was all but dressing Terri up in a carrot costume.
Doocey then asked Carla why she was coming forward now. She answered that she wanted "to let the truth be known. I was one of the very few people who was able to see Terri. She would interact with all the visitors. ... I want everyone to see Terri."Pity that Ms. Iyer didn’t come forward sooner. Perhaps if she had, the truth, if it ever does become fully publicized, wouldn’t be a posthumous gesture.
And maybe, just maybe, Michael Schiavo would already be behind bars, where he belongs.
