VBC Missionaries Of The Week: Rich & Joyce Mattocks

The Mattocks are missionaries for Wycliffe Bible Translators serving in Papua New Guinea. They are involved with Scripture-use and literacy in the Kamano-Kafe language. They're also involved in training and working with trained nationals in doing translation of the Old Testament and New Testament revision. Rich is heading up the PNG portion of a Wycliffe world-wide Scripture-use research project to improve efforts to imapct peple for Christ. He also locates and coordinates sites for Jesus/Luke video showings in local villages, as well as training and sending out teams to show the videos and provide Bibles.

Pray for a spiritual thirst to read God's Word among the natives of Papua New Guinea. Pray for true believers to come alongside the Mattocks to work with them. Pray for all the details in producing a Bible memory booklet that deals with sorcery and our strength in the LORD, and for another on payback killings. Pray for protection and good health for the Mattocks family and for continued spiritual growth for their daughter, Christa.
